i was on the 7pm news

i'm re-posting this post again as the link that i've attached in the earlier post has long gone! it has been 2 years since the event but somehow it was too fun to be kept for myself  :) hopefully the video will last until forever, so that my anak-cucu-cicit-piut dan seterusnya could watch their mom-grandma-great grandma-and the list goes on once was featured in the the UK news and looking great in her younger days.... buwek..;p

last 2 years, i went for a fungi workshop in London to learn more about fungal identification and never thought that TV people will be following us throughout our lessons to do news cover for evening news on that same day .. so, basically you can see me (and my camera..tehehe) here and there in the clip..

i've recorded them earlier (but it was too heavy to be uploaded in the YouTube, i gave up!) but tonight  i've found the slot in the catch-up Channel4 news website, i will just paste the link so that you guys can just watch it from here

at first, i thought only my husband and i will be the only Malaysians in town to watch news that night, but just when the news was aired that night, mr. hubby received a call from Abg Zamri (our friend) telling that i was on tv.. (sengih again!)..yes, at least there was a person watching me on action (instead of us).. well, i would like you, yes, my precious reader to watch it too.. so here it goes!

Tuesday morning

this is what we do early in the morning every Tuesday..

big black garbage bin for refused waste 

black recycling box for plastics, cartons and carboard

green bin for food waste

we always came out with these 3 every collecting day.. 

actually we were provided with four bins/boxes altogether -- plus blue recycling box, where we throw all cans, tins, aerosols, and all glass bottles and jars, tapi kitorang tak beli banyak can of drinks plus orang putih kat sini kan drinking, so they always came out with  4 every collection day.. :)

saya dengar kat certain tempat diorang provide sampai 9 jenis recycling waste! ouch!

kat sini pihak council dah bagi tarikh bile dia akan datang collect all the wastes..jadi tak perlu bawak keluar bins/boxes everyday.. recycled waste akan dikutip setiap minggu tapi refused bin hanya dikutip 2-3 kali sebulan je

i actually love the system

kalau balik Malaysia nanti, kenela maintain dengan lifestyle macam ni jugak

Royal Wedding

I guess everybody was focusing at one thing yesterday -- the royal wedding
my husband and i also didn't miss to watch the live telecast of the wedding on BBC1 right from the morning till 3 o'clock in the afternoon
yela..the wedding was like once-in-a-lifetime kan.. in fact it happened while we were here in the UK.. so, it would be one of the memories that we would never forget entirely when we're back at home


Kate looks super gorgeous and i really like her wedding gown.. simple and sweet gitu.. not to mention Prince William.. they are looking good together
wish both of them happiness :)


p/s: saw YDP Agong and Her Majesty came to the wedding as well.. :)

Ascot Fireworks for Charity

Last Saturday was almost a busy day for both me and hubby (at 11.30am it started! :p)
we were invited by Kak Bib to have laksa and soto at her house at Ashford.. Kak Bib has thrown a party before and it seems that we were not able to attend due to some misunderstanding that we couldn't avoid at that point of time so that's why she insisted of having another day of makan-makan with us at her house
Alhamdulillah rezeki kami nampaknya haritu :)


well, the big story wasn't about that anyway~~
we had our first fireworks event coming that evening and I never taught that we all need to come earlier for that!
aiya..tak sempat nak buat snek kat rumah, jadi kami beli take-away food jela..(not to forget the latte as well! *wink*)

the fireworks was for charity (tapi tak ingat untuk charity ape) and it was held at Ascot Racecourse...tempat orang2 kaya lumba kuda.. besar macam stadium jugakla

we thought that there were no race for that day..tup2 datang diorang tengah display their horses for betting purposes. Nampaknya kene tengok lumba kuda dulula baru leh tengok fireworks.. but it was fine though, kalau tak dapat masuk Ascot Racecourse ni tak taula macam mana sebenarnya suasana betting dan lumba kuda tu, ye tak?

but don't worry we were just watching, no activities of betting or exchanging money was happened! :)

i took some time off from study

..by popping into the train and off we go to London!

as all of us know, entrance ticket ke mana2 tourist attractions di UK ni memang mahal and might get some people moaning about it esp to ppl yang suke convert harga ke RM.. you better not do that here!

but living in the UK, at some extent has taught me and husband to look for discount vouchers and discounted brands especially for shopping and travelling.. yela, we all kan student and student dependant, jadi kene banyak berjimat cermat..:p

for this time, qila dapat free vouchers for 2 for 1 price for selected tourist attractions dari Tesco dan Nectar cards (dua-dua card ni guna untuk dapat points masa groceries shopping)

those vouchers qila dah dapat months ago dan baru kali ni dapat peluang nak jalan2

bukannya ape, the vouchers will only last until end of this month, so sebab tula we still insist to go.. huu

we bought London off-peak travel day card..much cheaper that way.. 

kalau kite beli travel day card, we are automatically eligible to get the  2 for 1 offers to several London attractions as well.. wah, dapat lagi vouchers..!

tapi kitorang tak gune semua sebab pergi 2 tempat aje yesterday; Madamme Tussauds & London Eye

we went to most places already so, dua tempat ni je yang belum explore

so..here the story goes

sekarang adalah peak season for visiting Madamme Tussauds (MT). Kene beratur hampir 2 jam before dapat masuk beli tiket.. nasib baik ada cafe next to MT, sempat grabbed latte dan pancakes dan melantak sambil queuing up..hehe

Madonna tinggi sikit je dari Qila rupenye..eh eh.. I didn't wear my stilletos yet, kalau tak dah sama level kot..

i think man on the left tu lagi attractive la dari yang belah kanan tu.. keke

nasib baik my sv doesn't look like this fella.. haha.. 

what happened today?

                                                                                                          

it was sunny morning today and we have decided to stay at home and tidying up our patio and back garden. Therefore, i'd cooked special meal for breakfast supaya ada energy skit nak buat kerja after that..heee

It has been rainy days lately, and umbrella or jacket with hood is a MUST!

tengokla garden kitorang, rumput pun dah panjang dan banyak summer plants yang mati.. maka, today adalah stay-at-home-and-make-up-the-garden day for both of us..

mr. hubby ditugaskan untuk mesin rumput while the wife..ahem..me.. tukang cabut weeds, tukang trim pokok bunga, tukang cabut pokok mati dan tukang bersih patio.. hehe

bila bangun dari tidur dapat phone call dari Kak Maswa saying that she is going to take her childrens to Carters Steam Fair dekat Englefield Green. Die cakap kalau nak join nanti datangla terus kat funfair tu...

Well, for your knowledge, Carters Steam Fair adalah ala-ala funfair macam kat Malaysia tu tapi yang uniknya funfair ni more to British traditional style. Qila ada jumpa video kat YouTube pasal funfair ni, so korang boleh tengok ok?

it was raining when we arrived at the funfair.. apalagi, redah jela!

we went into this booth called Mirrow Show - sort of like cermin mengejek..(panggil apa ye in english?) klakar tak gambar kitorang kat bawah ni?

hekhek!

obviously, it was a wet evening.. the actual mission to the funfair was to watch the hanabi (fireworks) but due to rain, i'm not sure whether they are going to have it later after the rain stop or probably tomorrow night.. mr hubby kata kalau tak hujan esok boleh datang lagi.. yeay!

ala, tak jauh pun, kat Ascot je

bile sampai sana tengok2 entry fees die dah naik..50 pence suda
terkejut jugak.. yela, lama dah tak datang sini..

dalam pada jalan2 mensurvey barang itu, kitorang terjumpa dengan Kak As, rakan senegaraku yang juga PhD student kat sini
die dah awal2 lagi kasitau nak menjual di carboot sales minggu ni di Facebook sebab too much stuff kat rumah die tu ha...
ingatkan main-main, rupenye betul!
sebagai tanda sokongan qila pun rembatla 2 helai blouse (1 dapat free, 1 lagi dapat diskaun) dan hubby plak beli pelampung untuk anak buah die
