New Year and my resolutions

it's New Year's Eve today!

i am fully excited to enter 2010, really!

so many dreams and hopes to be realised this time

saya hanya mampu merancang dan berusaha

tapi Dia yang akan tentukan

SUAMI adalah hadiah paling bermakna untuk saya bagi tahun 2009 ini

terima kasih Tuhan kerana ciptakan dia untuk saya

Alhamdulillah :)

oleh itu, azam tahun baru saya adalah:

- jadi lebih baik, lebih produktif dan lebih kuat berusaha dalam apa jua kerja

- upgrade status PhD dalam tahun ini

- lebih banyak menabung dari tahun 2009 :)

- dan lebih banyak melancong! huhu

- seperti biasa, saya mengingatkan diri saya supaya ingatkan Tuhan, ibu bapa dan keluarga saya walau di mana saya berada..

this time, parcel from Japan!

this morning, i was awaken by the ringing sound of the phone intercom

it was from the downstairs main door!

(means someone with parcel delivery or food delivery or a visitor of course)

when i picked up the phone and answered, there was a guy said "delivery"

i hurriedly went downstairs and a guy with Parcelforce uniform hold a parcel and handed me a signature machine

later, i got my parcel!

weeeeee......drumroll please!!!

it's from JAPAN again!!!

and this time, it is from Kak Zeti...doomo aarigato zeti-chan!

the parcel contains 2010 calendar with Mount Fuji as the background, a Kimono girl notebook, a cute-shaped Kimono girl purse, Sakura Houjicha , Sakura sachet and Sakura flower bubble for bath..auwww.... i love all of 'em! really represents Japan!

New Year swap presents from Kak Emila & Ili!!
supposed to receive them last week before Christmas
but i was away, so the Royal Mail delivery just dropped a reminder card for me to pick the parcel at the Royal Mail office
i went to their office yesterday, but it was closed
i went again today, n collect them
thank you both of you!

almost there...almost there!

yeah, 2010 is coming in a few days time
and will say goodbye to 2009 -- a memorable year that i would never forget in my entire life
banyak kenangan manis berlaku dalam tahun ni
dan banyak juga impian dan keinginan saya tercapai!

let's recap some moments;

~ January - good news from JKLB and KPT.. green light to UK!

~ January to March - wedding preparation, went off to Bandung with parents, future-husband and future-FIL for shopping!

~ March - my wedding. happy and proud to get blessing from family and friends.. :)

~ end of July - off to UK

n here i am now!
Alhamdulillah, am very thankful to the Almighty God for His blessings
and zillions thanks to my hubby, my family, family in-laws, relatives and friends for the love and support
n to u too!

Boxing Day!

as some of you might aware, yesterday was a Boxing Day in several part of the countries that includes UK too
Boxing Day ni slalunya jatuh pada hari selepas Christmas
pada asalnya, Boxing Day adalah hari di mana pekerja2 bercuti dan majikan memberi wang/hadiah kepada pekerja2 yang kurang bernasib baik/miskin selepas setahun bekerja
pada hari ini juga, sebilangan keluarga akan berkumpul dan makan besar bersama2 di samping beriadah dan bersukan
but today, Boxing Day lebih dikenali sebagai hari shopping besar2an di sini
most of the designer outlets, retailers akan membuat potongan harga sehingga 80% daripada harga asal dan membuka outlet masing2 seawal 6 pagi!

saya dan suami pun tidak mahu ketinggalan menikmati suasana Boxing Day di sini
jadi kami keluar rumah jam 7 pagi dan menuju ke Staines (sebab kat sini banyak shopping complex)
rupanya parking kat area shopping tu dah full!
terpaksala tunggu beberapa minit sebelum carpark available
excited juga tengok ramai orang berjalan bawak plastic bag berbondong2..hehe
saya dan suami sempatla shopping kasut Lee Cooper, roller blade, 2 handbags, bantal dan t-shirt..hehe..

it was our 1st time experiencing Boxing Day here..
lepas ni, kene plan nak beli barang ape plak for the next Boxing Day
kalau tak jaga budget, confirm sume nak beli nanti..hehe

Liverpool Trip 2 -- Yellow Duck Marine

as promised, saya masukkan gambar2 Yellow Duck Marine ni untuk tatapan sume.. tapi ade lagi picx yang takleh upload..ciszz! buat hal plak picture editor ni..

kalau naik duck marine ni, banyak juga tempat die bawak pusing2

ouh! all of sudden, a fish came out after the duck splashed into the water! haha..

Liverpool trip

we had tremendous trip to Liverpool
it wasn't quite far from Manchester
only 40 minutes drive to the west Manchester (if only the roads are clear)
saya dan suami menginap di hotel berhampiran Albert Dock, one of the most torist attraction di Liverpool
Albert Dock juga merupakan salah satu kawasan yang diiktiraf sebagai World Natural Heritage dan pada zaman kegemilangannya berfungsi sebagai pelabuhan penting pada masa dahulu
one of must-do-things-in-Albert Dock is taking a Yellow Duck Marine.. it functions as a hovercraft where it moves on land and also on water!
paying less than 10 pounds, u'll be driven around near to most of historical buildings around the city.. takyah jalan jauh2 nak pergi setiap tempat :)

across the road, there's the biggest glamorous shopping mall, Liverpool ONE yang baru dirasmikan tahun lepas
as we came right before Christmas Eve. everything were on sale and crowded with Brits all over the place!
rasa macam kat Jalan Masjid India masa nak dekat raya..hehe
n the feel is good :)
had some shopping for handbags and kitchen tools too.. (~_^)

after 2 days, we checked out from hotel and made our way to Cheshire to visit an Aquarium..
wait for the Cheshire entry then!

back at home already!

have so many things to tell ya after 4 days city break over Manchster, Liverpool and Cheshire
but i will tell ya bits by bits,ok?
but first, lemme wish a very Happy Christmas to those who celebrate it today!

dan saya baru saja dapat tau yang dividen dan bonus ASB tahun ni naik 8.55sen/unit!

Manchester trip

hello kawan2!
i am already in Liverpool after 2 days having fun in Manchester City
Alhamdulillah we made it to our hotel walaupun en. suami kene memandu dengan kelajuan 50miles/hour sahaja memandangkan salji tebal di kawasan motorway
in 2 days, we managed to visit Old Trafford Stadium, Chill Factor and Trafford Centre
dan sebelum ke Liverpool, kami sempat jalan2 dan shopping kat B&Q (macam IKEA)

malam kelmarin snow turun dengan lebatnya
maka pagi semalam, most places are covered with snow
apalagi, saya pun mintak en. suami snap2 gambar dari tingkap umah kami di tingkat 3 tu.. :p
masa nak buat breakfast, saya dapat msg dari Kak Muliati, another Malaysian ajak kitorang pegi snap2 gambar kat Royal Holloway (my uni)

sebab dekat entrance uni ade padang luas yang berlatarbelakangkan the ultimate Founders Building (ala2 Hogwarts kat cite Harry Porter tu) (assuming that any pictures taken there will turn out great with the background)

ABC satu!!

at the same day yesterday, we went to watch Avatar in 3D muvie

it is full house and all i can say is THUMBS UP!

a big applause to James Cameron whom i believed has created another successful movie to close the movie calendar of the year

Pandora is just a beautiful place and having watch this muvie in 3D has added some X-tra factor to it!

every creatures seems to be real and colourful (that includes the fungi too..this has attract me a lot!)
totally recommended to you guys!

our first snow!

rasa macam budak perempuan dapat Barbie doll, that's what i felt when i saw the snow for the first time.. excited!
it wasn't that heavy-type-of snow
maybe ini permulaan untuk musim sejuk akan datang :)
i was on my way to school to go for a meeting with my sv and i just stop by at the Founders Building to enjoy the scenery..ahaks! sempat lagi
n i straight away called my hubby yang tengah sakit kaki kat umah.. he became excited too and asked me to wait for him at school once i finished my meeting so that we can go back home together..

another good thing happened today was the meeting itself
the best meeting i've ever had with my sv!
we laughed and gossiping while discussing about my research plan for next year
and having hot cofffee throughout the time has spreaded some relaxing and comfy mode all over the room

n mr sweet sv again has made me double happy by giving me a Christmas card.. in fact, i was about to give him a christmas card too.. :) so, happy ending di situ.. :)

notes to myself

when i saw someone dear to me having her/his dreams wished all came true
i am happy for her/him,
but boy, how i wish that i could be at his/her place!
sape taknak kan kalau ape bende kite nak sume leh dapat kan? kalau you all pun mesti nak jugak kan

but i must say, i must be realistic
i am who i am, i cannot be someone's else
i cannot be someone else's daughter who have a wealthy parents yang mampu bagi apa saja yang diingini
if i want sumthing, i must do scratches from the bottom and try to get to the top on my own
cos i know, i am not a rich people

but sometimes, when we have achieved what we want
we became greedy, we felt that what we had now is still not enough to please ourself
we ask for more n more
i did felt that way sumtimes..i know, this is not healthy
i must be grateful, i must be thankful to God that give me this rezeki
there are a lot unfortunate people out there whom really want to be in my place, hoping, praying and doing their best to get into this comfort zone
but i am already here, already achieved half of my dream, now trying to achieve another half of it

qila, sila bersyukur

muat ke santa nak masuk chimney dengan perut besar die tu? huhu

2 weeks to go for Christmas celebration, but the Brit people have started their preparation since months ago
when its coming closer, you can really feel the Christmassy heat turned on everywhere!
childrens and even guard kat Tesco dah pakai topi santa
glittering christmas tree next to the window at each of the neighbouring houses
banyak toy shop dan chain outlets (e.g Asda, Tesco, Argos,Homebase) buat christmas sale
and kat umah saya ni pun dah banyak dapat katalog untuk christmas online sale
rasa macam preparation sambut raya versi orang putih.. haha!
sana sini sale, cute and variety of greetings card to pick up too..

kami pun taknak lepaskan peluang untuk hias rumah memandangkan ada kedai india kat Egham tu jual barang2 hiasan untuk christmas for a cheaper price
walaupun tak celebrate Christmas, tapi excited jugak sebab tengok umah2 orang siap pasang lampu kelip2 kalah umah masa hari raya, ade christmas tree dan kad2 bergantungan..hehe
so, we make our kitchen door as the christmas hall of fame gitu...
ok tak?

doomo aarigato!

siang tadi, saya dan suami ke Hounslow untuk hantar servis kereta dan renew MOT kereta sekali (buat pertama kalinya..)

dan on the way balik, kami singgah to the only halal KFC di London -- which is in Hounslow itself, kurang 3 minit drive dari KwikFit, tempat kitorang servis kereta

finally, dapat rasa ayam goreng yang sama macam kat Malaysia..hehe

bukannya tak dapat makan ayam goreng, cuma ayam goreng kat kedai lain mesti rasa masin skit ataupun tak berapa sedap..

hehe!

another Eid-ul-Adha gathering!

semalam saya dan suami attend Muslim gathering kat Wetton's Annex dekat dengan RHUL campus
aktiviti yang diadakan adalah solat Isya' berjemaah, jamuan pot luck dan juga meeting untuk tujuan pencarian building property untuk bina Muslim community centre di sini
FYI, setakat ni semua kegiatan komuniti Islam dibuat di bangunan Wetton's Annexe yang merupakan salah satu lecture room untuk student arts yang study kat RHUL
diorang solat Jumaat, solat sunat Aidilfitri,Aidiladha pun kat situ gak
tapi kalau tak silap dengar, pihak universiti tidak lagi membenarkan sebarang aktiviti dibuat pada masa akan datang, jadi kaum2 lelaki Muslim yang bergiat aktif kat sini sedang dalam usaha mencari bangunan lain untuk dijadikan permanent community centre
